Sailing from Mexico to Marquesses tomorrow.

Tomorrow marks the day that we leave the Continent and sail away for the South Pacific and beyond.
Catamaran life on the open ocean is the reason I own one.
The weather looks fine, maybe a bit to fine. As of today’s forecast nothing even near 20 knots.Click image for larger version

Hope you get reasonable winds. Once got out of Panama Bay very little compared to the Atlantic. Enjoy yourself, the adventure of a lifetime which will give great memories when you are old. Totally jealous and you'll love Polynesia

Re: Sailing from Mexico to Marquesses tomorrow.

Scottster, when we left we left from Melaque, Jalisco. We kept informed on the Pacific Net as to where we thought the narrowest part of the ITZC was. We lost NE trades at 11:00 pm and picked up SW trades at 4:00 am. We were less than 20 days in passage, on a Pedrick Cheoy Lee 41 offshore, weighing in at 16 tonnes. May you be so fortunate.

Re: Sailing from Mexico to Marquesses tomorrow.

Thanks for all the well wishes, there has been a damper on our departure.
We are all checked out and anchored in Punta Mita waiting for wind.
All the other boats here are mono hulls and there all getting antsy to push out into the calm seas, we’re going to wait.
I have sailed with most of these sailors and moderate weather to us is heavy weather to them.
I wanted 15 to 25 and we have 3 to 5.—————- so we wait.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I think we had dinner with you and your family at The Bite in KW.

We just talked tonight about you heading from Marathon to the Bahamas as we were heading NE toward Miami/ Ft. Lauderdale.

Looked at your blog yesterday or today.

Stay well!

ETA: Hoping you have a safe trip OP. Sorry about the thread drift.

Re: Sailing from Mexico to Marquesses tomorrow.

Great, we did it last year. No difficulties.
After Maquesas try to stay East. Don't Let you droit to much West if you want sailing in Tuamotu.
