Where is the hot water heater on my 380?

Owners of Lagoon 380's,
I have had my 2002 380 for a little over a year and would like to replace my hot water heater. I don't see it located in any obvious place. It is not located on my plumbing layout in the manual.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Not familiar with the boat...
get a flashlight, open every hatch, drawer, cabinet and stick your head in. Follow the water hoses.
You will find it. You might just find other surprises as well.

On our 2004 L380, 4 cabin version, it is under the port aft berth, aft of the house batteries. In front of the engine compartment bulkhead.

Your boat has no hot water heater. It may have a device that makes water hot, but there is no reason to heat water that is already hot.

Re: Where is the hot water heater on my 380?

Yes but most of us call a water heater, a hot water heater.
For some reason down South we call a garden hose, a hose pipe too.
I never thought about that until a guy from New Jersey said which is it, a hose, or a pipe?

There's always one! Funny thing is that also here in Oz 99.9999% of people would say the same thing. Or would understand what was meant.

Now I am confused, down South you get your hot water, heated up out of a hose pipe.

Most of who[m]? Virtually everyone knows what is meant; virtually every time it is said on this forum, one of us pipes up about it and gets hosed. Yes, I believe the British may also use the term hose pipe, but when being specific they may refer to a garden hose. But, unlike a radiator hose, that hose usually only carries cold tap water from the garden faucet OR bib. Nonetheless, who wastes energy heating hot water? I will bet donuts to dollars that even YOU do not. To repeat directly, the point was redundancy, not nomenclature. Do I now get a Mars (please not another Neptune) since this is, I believe, post 1000, and just in time for me to leave?

Most water heaters are expending a great deal of energy heating water that is already hot. When I set the thermostat at 120* Fahrenheit, then the water that drops to a temperature of around 115* is heated and reheated through the day. It does seem wasteful, but many of us actually do have "hot water" heaters!

For those unsure.... The joke is noone heats "hot" water because it's already hot. It's a cold or warm water heater. Hardy ha ha.

They're often "heat exchangers" that take the hot cooling water/fluid and run it through pipes (usually copper) inside in a tank in which the fresh water is pumped. They "exchange" the heat from engine with the cool fresh water.

unless it's a big boat with a gas or electric one
