Which RIB will fit the davits?

Hello
I'm very new to CF but I have just purchased a Lagoon 380 S2 and would like to hang a RIB on the davits. There are few choices here in the UK and we are looking at the AB Aluminium RIBs. Can anyone tell me whether the AL9 will fit between the hulls or will I be forced into the AL8 (which does not have the useful bow locker),

Davits don't matter. What matters is the minimum distance between the hulls just aft of the davit mounting. Your biggest dinghy will be roughly 1ft shorter than the result. I would expect the hulls to be 10 - 11 feet apart at that point making any 9ft ( or less ) dinghy just fine.

a 10 ft rib fit on my lagoon 42 with room to spare. But just measure between the hulls, if it's snug that would be good actually!

we had a highfield 310 on Sephina. About as big as is comfortable between the hulls. You need to raise the bow before the stern as it wont pull up directly, but it fits and works well.

Mercury Dynamic RIB 300 (which is really 310). Same thing again, lift the bow first to make it easier to lift between the hulls, but it fits nicely on the davits.

This size is registered to carry 4 pax in Oz & planes easily for the two of us with a 8HP 2 stroke.

Re: Which RIB will fit the davits?

Thanks to you all that responded so quickly.

We shall order an AB AL9 (aluminium) which is a foot (30 cms) shorter than the Highfield so should go in OK. Only 36kgs as opposed the Navigo 9 at 65kgs (grp) which must help.

My first forum experience has been great - thanks guys.
