‘08 Xantrex Invert/Charger w/LiFePo4

I’m replacing two 8d batteries w/a LFP battery and need Xantrex Freedom 25 expertise. The charger’s “gel 1” voltage settings are nearly perfect for the LFP battery, but there’s no control over stage times. KiloVault support recommends 2 minutes or less for absorption and “short as possible” “but preferably 0” for float.

Charging automatically begins when the unit is connected to shore power and must be switched off manually each time. I don’t need a 130A charger, am leery of using it, and am now lithium poor.

So…can I remove the charger cables w/o damaging the unit and still have the inverter function?

No it’s the same cable. But if you have the link 1000/ 2000 screen you can shut off the charger. Though it may turn back on everytine you plug the boat in.

Even the brand new victron inverter chargers you can not shut off the absorb time. Or stop float. But you can set custom voltages.

We have the link 2000 and we just turn the charger on when we want it on. We usually set a timer so that we remember to turn it off. It does not automatically come on when the shore power is connected. It works quite well on the gel setting for our lithium’s.

Thank you. You lead me to check the Link 1000 & 2000 online manuals. With my basic Remote panel charging strictly auto-on/manual-off, but with the two Link models it appears you can have manual or auto start.

Guess its time to check CruisersForum & eBay.
