50 Amp Power Cables

My new boat (Beneteau 45) has a 50 amp 125/250 volt power connection. I'm trying to decide which power cord to get. Are the Marinco EEL connections good? Or should I get a standard thread on cord? I definitely want a solid connection.

Re: 50 Amp Power Cables

I've been using the EEL (Easily Engaged Lock) system for a few years and have never had the boat-end connector come undone. The EELs have a secondary lock which stops them untwisting. The real benefit of them is avoiding any possibility for cross-threading on the boat receptacle. They also have an indicator light on the plug so you can see if they're powered.
