a charge controller for Silent Wind 400

Hi All,

It appears that our Hybrid 1000 Charge Controller is no longer operational. The brake does not disengage.
As instructed in the manual, I disconnected the three leads form the wind generator and the blades start turning. Checked the connections to the battery and the fuse - appear to be ok. The manual says that this would mean the charge controller has "an internal problem" and "please contact your dealer".

While trying to locate a dealer in Sydney, Australia, I noticed that new Silentwind charge controller costs over $1k (australian dollars) and there are others that look bit cheaper.

My question is, can I connect three leads form Silent wind 400+ to a charge controller manufactured by someone else? Any generic wind gen charge controllers around?

Yes you can and I did so a couple of years ago.. the new one I bought off aliexpress .. works just fine.
As a brake I added a separate toggle switch
