Alarm on VDO gauges

I've just installed new VDO gauges for engine temp and oil pressure. They seem to read fine, but the alarm light on both is on all the time. I've wired them into a common +/-. Something I've done wrong?

Re: Alarm on VDO gauges

I'd also like to add an audible alarm to the circuit, but of course if I can't get it to stop buzzing ...!

Re: Alarm on VDO gauges

More information would help. Usually a gauge uses a separate sensor than the light/alarm circuit. Some sensors have two contacts and are dual purpose. Gauges also have a connection for the backlight. Posting the model number of the new gauges would help. Did you replace any of the sensors? What was the previous setup? (gauges or warning lights or both). It seems like you must have the warning light wires connected to ground (-) instead of to their respective sensor wires.
