Alternator bracket

My alternator fun continues!

I'm replacing my alternators with high amp ones.

One engine has a curved alternator tensioning bracket that fits the new alternator perfectly.

The other engine has a small straight bracket that isnt long enough to reach the bolt.

Where can I get a curved bracket? I've looked everywhere online

Or do I need to get it machined by a shop?

The engines are 3gm 30f yanmar

Thanks!

Re: Alternator bracket

When I replaced my alternator with a much larger one, I had a local mechanic fabricate one. He did a really good job. Alignment is critical.

I'm switching to the serpentine belt setup on my Perkins. Lifetime warranty on the belt. I'm also upgrading to the 120..

Re: Alternator bracket

Tried the Balmar one on our 4-108 and it was way too large. Try these forlks for a bracket or arm:

UNIVERSAL ALTERNATOR ADAPTER BRACKETS

Here is what we did, works great:

Re: Alternator bracket

I was going to post that hot rod supplies like summitracing.com and jegs.com have a lot of stuff like that and cheap, but that turnbuckle kicks ass! I'll do that on mine the next time I change the belt.

Re: Alternator bracket

When we were in West Palm Beach, we found an Alternator shop called "Riviera Generator" They had boxes and boxes of curved, double curved, reverse curved, you name it. The old guys said "Help yaself" Try to find an auto electrical near you.
Love the turnbuckle though!!
