Alternator shop in Annapolis

Hi all,

Our engine alternator is a simple affair, and is internally regulated. I would like to convert it to external regulation, if I can find a shop that can do it inexpensively. We are in Annapolis, have no car, and take the bus regularly. The alternator is 24v, and I think it is 40a. There is only a + and - off of the back.

Any leads?

Mammock's Motor Electric could probably do it. I haven't used them recently, but they've rebuilt starters for me in the past at a reasonable price.

They're located off West Street at 314 Legion Ave.

I had one done once, took the guy about 10-15 min's while I watched. Hopefully you can find someone.

I second Mammock. They put new brushes in a discontinued Simpson Lawrence windless motor. Worked great.

Tom (I think that is his first name) is of the old school- hands on, adaptive, will make something work.
