Aqua Signal or Hella to replace red/green nav lights?

The bulb on my Aqua Signal Series 41 red/green nav light burned out this weekend. I was planning on upgrading to LEDs over the winter, but now is looking like a better time for that. The Aqua Signal Series 43 is supposed to be a direct replacement, but it is $299 at Defender as compared to $181 for the Hella R/G combo light.

I hope, that at the minimum, staying with Aqua Signal I get mounting hole compatibility. Has anyone seen the two together to understand if the premium for the Aqua Signal is justified at all?

I'd appreciate any experience with what is involved in replacing a Series 41 with a Series 43, the Hella equivalent, or some other brand.

The boat is a Beneteau 423. I'm asking that community for advice as well.

Did the bulb burn out or the lens disco,or?

If you want a replacement led we have the same light and went with marinebeam. Great company that makes excellent products. the bulb fit perfectly and we are very pleased.

Good luck

Ditto the LED Bulb

We put an after-market LED bulb in our Aqua Signal fixture. Works great. Just make very sure you get one marked for Aqua Signal. Otherwise the color won't match the lens and visible light output will be seriously reduced.

The new LEDs are all the same Chinese quality, maybe made in the same factory. Go with what fit best. Don't sweat too much about ~$100 that's dinner in a restaurant or a small $ amount with a boat.
