BATTERY CHARGER

i have a older battery charger that has a amp meter on it. the charger seems to work good as far as the amp meter goes, down to about 0 after a day of charging. the problem is it has a blinking light that suppose to slow down when the batteries are charged,float. it doesn't do that, it stays blinking fast.they're acid batteries and i notice that the acid has a slight bubbling to it when the amp meter is showing nearing zero. is that normal or should i replace the charger. it's a 50amp charger with 4 group 27 batteries.

A 10 dollar multi meter could tell you if the thing is still pushing significant volts after charge is complete.
If the acid is bubbling it usually indicates a charging state, by how much is anyone's guess without a multi meter to test it with.
Nothing wrong with keeping it as a spare i suppose, but i would go for a replacement at this point as it will be a "Known Value" rather than an unknown (deficient)liability.
