As Velanera said.. Sunpower never sold B2C in the past, only in case of a project upper 1 MWp they allowed a direct sell to the final client (my personal experience with my own solar plant ) . And I do not think they're going to lose the sales network they have so well preserved with their affiliates (you could install / buy sunpower only if you were an authorized installer) then, bringing the behavior they have had in domestic / commercial plants will not sell it directly (Ps: whoever asked for it, they are produced in Malaysia and the Philippines by "Sunpower Phils. Manufacturing LTD" 3rd Street, First Philippine Industrial Park BRGY, STALANASTACIA , STO, TOMAS, BENTAGAS, PHILIPPINE 4324) they will sell to resellers.

So, 234,00 plus the dealer's profit and tax (it is specified that it is a price without VAT) . Yes for sure less than Sorbian, but for sure not 234,00 at the end client .. A lot more .. I guess 350 +

How slippery are flexible panels, ie; will you die if you step on one when it's wet?

You can buy them with a non-skid surface which are supposedly OK for walking on but it's probably not good for the panel. But at least it'll help if they get stepped on inadvertently. Aurinco used to make them but I don't think they're in business anymore. I thought I saw some on Bruce's Ocean Planet site (Solara?) but maybe I was mistaken.

Both Solbian and Solara are available with a slip-resistant surface. Not super nonskid, but much better than shiny. We've a lot of Solbian deck panels with the textured surface, backside wiring, and peel & stick backside adhesive.

Aren't installations where the flex panel is adhered directly onto a deck about the worst for heat dissipation & therefore longevity?

Re: Best new flex panels on the market?

The heat is more of an output issue (less when hot), haven't any evidence that it affects longevity. But certainly true that deck installations won't cool as well as when on canvas.

OK, got it. Maybe just some more internet misinformation. Btw, can any of your panels be customized size-wise?

Isn't this the problem with flex panels. Event the best ones. They are always going to be adhered to something. Whether it's a piece of ply, fibreglass, aluminium, or just bimini cloth. Few will have them raised, or free flying.

Yes, there are many sizes now, and if need be Solbian will custom make whatever we need. There are some limitations but never hurts to ask.

Re: Best new flex panels on the market?

The improvements to the Bimini installation of five Solbian solar panels turned out nice. Essentially now, the entire top of the bimini has a second layer of canvas/panels since the new zips and Velcro were added along with cable cover channels. All panels are now secured with zips and Velcro on all four sides. Covers were also made to cover the cables where they run down the dodger.

The best thing... nothing is visible from the dock or water level view. Unless we climb up on to the cabin top, nothing can be seen. Mission accomplished.

But you know not to mix water and electricity.

The Solara panels Ocean Planet mentioned were very good for grip, even the dog thought so as he liked to sit on the warm panel.

I'm going to guess you might have a shading issue....
