I saw that one too. It's not reversible, so it won't work for a windlass application.

I do not agree that the electric drive on a windlass is less important than the cooktop aboard. Actually, I consider it a primary system, like electric bilge pumps (even when you have a manual pump as well).

Having an electric windlass can be the thing saving your boat from the rocks when a sudden squall wind 180 degree windveer puts you in a dangerous spot, while the manual backup method is only viable in calm non-urgent situations.
