Re: CF Members Survey - Batteries Used Currently - 2019

Cobbled together LiFePo house system (2x72Ah, 5x20Ah) solar charged. SLA start battery. Currently 440W solar, soon to be ~600W when I can get to mounting 2x140W new panels.
Living full time on hook, one refrigeration system (soon to be two when I have time to pull out and replace dead BD35 with BD50.) Electric (macerating) toilet.
All LED lighting (except masthead).
Oh, to get out off my engine compartment where I have been dealing with starter, alternator and now tranny problems.
I could actually get some fun projects done.

3 firefly for main bank, AGM starting battery

Charging from Solar and a 120a Balmar- gets about 3 1/2 days on the hook without running the engine and without skimping.on usesge.

Re: CF Members Survey - Batteries Used Currently - 2019

It seems I'm the only one who uses the Firefly Oasis L15+ size 4v. We have three of them for 450 ah @ 12v nominal.
They have significantly longer life expectancy as compared to the G31 size FF Oasis. I'm not sure why more aren't using these.

Still-sorta-new-to-us-boat came with five house batteries, two bow thruster batteries, and one each start batteries for the generator and both mains. All are AGM.

I think I could turn three of them on their side and use them.
L15 https://oceanplanetenergy.com/wp-con...-18-18-TMW.pdf
17 1/4" x 6 7/8" x 10 5/8" but they might be too wide for the space available. These are big!

G31 12v https://oceanplanetenergy.com/wp-con...al-drawing.pdf
Dimensions (L x H x W) 13.4" x 9.4" x 6.8" (340 x 238 x 172mm) Weight 74 lbs (33.5kg)
If the 9.25" height does not work, I might be able to use these on their side.
