Hi!

Checked them out, thanks. Not powerful enough to connect all panels (if paralleled) to one. If I buy two, they don't seem to synchronise like Blue Sky do?

See next post too.

Cheers

Rethink!

Have a Naps Maxpower lying around. Temperature compensated. 7 A.

I can connect it to a small panel and let it exclusively charge the start battery/bank # 2.

It makes things simpler and opens up choices of brands and models for the rest.

Re: Choosing MPPT solar regulator(s)

Why would you need "synchronization"?

Two parallel charge controllers simply charge to the voltage that they are adjusted to with the current the panel can deliver.

There is no problem with hooking up more than one charge controller to the same battery. We're all doing this all the time, e.g. when solar and shore power are charging at the same time or solar and the alternator.

Re: Choosing MPPT solar regulator(s)

Alright. Changed my mind anyway. Looking at the Morningstar Tristar 45 A. Reason: will parallel connect all panels. I will buy whatever panels I find, mix cheap with expensive. But will adhere to Vmp.

Cheers
