Controller input/output

The output amps from my victron 100/30 charge controllers consistently reads 4 to 5 amps higher than the inputs from the solar panels. How is this possible?

Re: Controller input/output

Cap'n,

Check the input and output voltages on your controller. You may find that the newer controllers use the increased voltage from the panels to output higher energy levels to the battery than are shown coming from the panels.

Re: Controller input/output

Because the panel voltage is not the same.

The watts in watts out should be similar. Probably a bit of loss. V x A = watts.
