DC layout

Hi Friends,
Getting along with my mates refit
and this is the diagram presented
to him by the electrician at the yard
What do all you think?
All opinions are welcome
Note: Fuses are not shown
Alternators are externally controlled
Only DC side of Inverter/Charger shown

As explained to me:
on/off combine is for emergency start if start
battery is toast
1-2-both is to parallel the two banks for charging
DC positive inverter switch - self explanatory

Cheers
Neil

Re: DC layout

the on / off / combine switch has 4 posts so something is missing there. as it's draw you have two 1,2,all switches which would work better.

I would put the dc panel on the output of the swtich. not the input. then the dc panel can be feed from either battery. you have it shown kinda weird there with the dc panel on the battery input post. same issues with engine. the engine battery and house battery should be on the inputs. then you car start engine from either battery.

once it's changed either switch turned to all will combine batteries.

i'm assuming that the "engine" is the engine and the "start" is the start battery. but those could be assumed either way as engine battery and starter (because normally an alternator connects to a starter). best to label diagram as battery.
