DC Wiring Check

Good Morning!

I'm hip-deep in re-wiring our Nauticat this winter and wanted to double check the power distribution I'm planning before I go buying expensive cable and fuses.

Some of the wiring is existing - mainly the 2/0 between the batteries and the charger, as well as the #2 to the engine. The previous wiring didn't have a separate start battery, the engine started off the house bank with the expected impact on the electronics on board. Therefore the main goal here is to add the ACR and combiner switch.

The other thing lacking on the boat was any kind of over-current protection outside of one 350A fuse (!!) off the house bank so I'm trying to correct that too and get it to reasonable limits on fuses to the individual components.

Not shown here is a short run off the house batteries (2/0) to a primary unswitched distribution bus - I ran out of room.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

Brian

Re: DC Wiring Check

On my boat I have a fuse between the battery and the outboard.

I also have disconnects at the battery and at the outboard. Rather than a switch, I use an Anderson Powerpole connector, which simplifies maintenance when either the outboard or the battery has to be removed.
