Difference between inverters

Hey all

Does any one know the main difference between these 2 inverters? As there's only 200w between them but I wasn't sure the sudden price jump?

I need to purchase one soon so deciding which would be best.

Also what's the best way to work out what size to get? Its always seemed to me around 2000w for a 40ft boat is average?

Thanks

Re: Difference between inverters

a usa household outlet is ~1800w + surging

gernally 2000w allows you to run anything that plugs into an outlet. micowave, coffee maker, power tools, hair dryer ect. unless it has big surges which some motors do.

1000w will probably not run most of those.

uk 230v power might be a bit different but wattage should be simular

Difference between inverters

A U.K. socket is rated for 13A so 3000W capable but 2000W would be an upper limit on a boat imho.

They seem 2 different models to me, with different specs each, including weight, size, peak performance, continuous output at various temperatures etc. You can delve into the details by looking at the brochures:

Re: Difference between inverters

The more expensive one lets you put several in parallel to get higher power.
"Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel and 3-phase operation capability Up to 6 units inverters can operate in parallel to achieve higher power output. Six 24/5000 units, for example, will provide 24kW / 30kVA output power. Operation in 3-phase configuration is also possible."

With the combi models MultiPlus, MultiGrid and Quattro - check out the PowerAssist feature, can combine the shore power or genset with House bank input.
