Re: Ditching Solar Panel Frame

i see one chap had drilled a hole in the corner of the frames attached a hose and used them to catch rain water. it worked well they caught a lot and where easy to clean so the water wasn't brackish .

Re: Ditching Solar Panel Frame

I've been building hard dodgers for all my boats over the years and mounting panels on them. I use the frames to have snap-apart hinges on both sides in order to tilt the panel to access more sun when I'm moored. The frame also adds strength to the panel. Those wafers are very fragile.

Re: Ditching Solar Panel Frame

You may want to keep in mind that if there is a need to replace a panel or panels in the future you don't want the customization of the bimini to restrict your next purchase---ie replacement panels would need to be the same size to fit the recess.
