Electronic Box in Bahia 46 Starboard engine bay

Hey guys I'm going through my electrics 'who's who' kinda thing. In my starboard engine bay is a box with some electronics in (all in French so I assume originally FP). I am trying to figure out what it does exactly. It is connected to both alternator signals and engine hour counters (easy). It has some more cables disappearing into the bowels of the Bahia and two control wires are connected to a huge relay (judging by the size is say 300A to 500A!!) the power side of this relay is connected in line between house battery, isolation switch and boat itself, just after the isolation switch and boat. Does that make sense?

Anybody knows what the point of that box is (apart from counting engine hours)?

Thanks

Or does anybody know where to find the original FP wiring diagrams for the Bahia Maestro?

A WAG, but could it be a relay so that you can't use your electric winch unless one engine is running?

It is very likely the battery combiner and the control for the windless relay. They wired the control wire on the windless to the alternator output. Post some pictures if you have them.

Doh! In case you didn't realise, I meant windlass, not winch.

It is probably a battery combiner system so you can use all batteries to start if needed.
