Fisher Panda 10 genset - need help identifying wires

Hi all,

The ongoing generator saga . . . .

As per title we "live" with the Fisher Panda 10 generator.
She's an oldie but has served us well over the years.

I need some help identifying wires coming from the generator itself.
There are of course the 3 (red) wires going to the so called AC box.

Besides those three red wires there are a couple more.
To be specific 2 brown wires with a white plastic plug and 2 black wires also with a plastic plug.

I have no idea what these are for and where to connect them to.

Any thoughts or help appreciated.

Thanks.

It will help your search, if you spell it correctly.

Re: Fisher Panda 10 genset - need help identifying wires

I can only get as far as making a bet, based on the wiring of other models and the convention of using brown insulation for 12vDC positive and black for negative or ground. Fischer Pandas have 12v wiring exiting to go to a diesel lift pump. If your genset is working and you don't have a lift pump (gravity feed), or the lift pump is wired otherwise, those two may be your 12v supply. I recommend that you apply your trusty multimeter while the genset is running and see if you get DC.

Re: Fisher Panda 10 genset - need help identifying wires

Hi GordMay,

Thank you for your reply.
Our generator is an older type. Build in 1995 and goes by the name
Panda 10.

It has the 3 cylinder Kubota D722 engine and produces

9.17 kW. at 220V.

There are no downloads for this model available anywhere online.
Believe me I tried to find them.

The only thing I have is a paper user manual which lacks a wiring diagram.

I am hoping someone with the same setup could guide me with regards to wiring colors and where to connect them.

Again, thank you.

Manual marine generator
Panda 8000i 8 kVAPanda
10000i PMS 10 kVA
230 V/400 V 120 V/240 V 50 Hz/60 Hz
https://www.fischerpanda.de/images/g...O1-0010303.pdf

The above manual has installation instructions [beginning page 133], which includes wiring.
Hopefully Fischer-Panda have maintained some continuity in their wiring practice, and the colours, connectors, and connections may be similar enough, to help you.

It’s FischerPanda. External fuel pump is a good bet the other may be the internal front end temp sensor.

Re: Fisher Panda 10 genset - need help identifying wires

Hansverh,

I believe we have the same generator from the same period [1999- early 2000].

Attached are two photos of generator schematics- with annotations by the former owner- in case they are helpful.

I see some notes [from the manufacturer] on these schematics indicating which models they are valid for- in case that helps you cross reference to other documentation you acquired online.

Best wishes sorting it out.

Cheers! Bill
