Genset/shorepower switch

Hi all.
I have a simple question I hope. Just installed a 3 way switch which enables either. Shore power, genset or off.
Each of the sources use a 3 core cable . Positive, neutral and earth but the instructions for the switch does not cater for an earth.
Can I connect the three earths together? Out side of the switch? Thanks

Re: Genset/shorepower switch

Yes, the three earths can be connected together since the earth is basically a way out for stray current.

Re: Genset/shorepower switch

As a matter of fact ABYC recommends the ground NOT be switched, and when you think about it this makes perfect sense. So yes connect all the grounds to a common terminal.
