Heart Interface Link 2000 - New Battery Setup Error

Hello, I recently switched from 4 6-volt CR-395 Crown Deep-Cycle Batteries to 2 6-Volt Lifeline 300AH AGM batteries.

The boat had been sitting for the winter and the old batteries, which were not taken care of by the previous owner, were having issues.

Since installing the new batteries (wired in a series to create 12 volts to support the 12-volt system), my Freedom 20 Inverter has been buzzing with a solid green (Invert button and flashing Charge button). Additionally, the Heart Interface Link 2000, has been throwing a low bat error along with 8.8.8.8. All of the buttons on the Heart Interface are unresponsive.

We have tried resetting the Link 2000, by unplugging the connector to the Freedom Inverter and unplugging the red/blue wire, and holding the setup buttons, but with no success.

Based on other threads, it seems the interface saved the battery setup that was previously there and is thinking there are more amps than there actually are, however, the manual for the Freedom says to reset via the Link, but the buttons are not working..

Has anyone else run into this issue/have a solution?

the battery / ah setup would not cause any of those issues. it would simply show wrong ah or time remaining data while discharging.

disconnect both the power and sense wires from the link2000 and reconnect a min later.

if it's still having issues probably time to replace. that system is 15 years old?

Send me a pm, I will then send you a rarely seen Link 2000 reset procedure published by Heart that I saved eons ago. I've done this for a few other folks. Would be glad to help you, too.
