How to crimp Bulgin Plug connectors without Bulgin tool?

I need to replace my Simrad (labeled 'Bulgin') bulkhead connector for the TP32 Tiller Pilot with a new one. Since I can not find the exact same plug I have ordered on that uses the same interior of the plug.

I now need to crimp the connectors (it is the 9 pin version, that uses crimp connectors) but don't have the very expensive Bulgin crimp tool and accessoires. What is the best way to crimp these connectors if you don't have the Bulgin tools. I do have other crimping tools, including wire end sleeve pliers. Also, the Simrad manual tells me to solder the 12 v connectors for the drive. Does that make any sense if they ale already crimped?
