Hopefully from the samples they will be able to determine what is going on. Keep up the good work.

Doing what I can. An associated problem with undersized cable is get copper tube type crimp ring terminals to grip properly. These fake 6mm cable need a 4mm crimp lug - and then some serious muscle to take up the slack. Even then I dont trust the joint and resort to a bit of soldering. What a pain that is on a boat.

Re: Is the market flooded with fake dangerous solar cable

I just had to post this - how to disconnect a solar panel on a sunny day
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/hF9gZ...?feature=share

Kinda brings home my point. This must have been at least 48V ca 100 A

See what you can be dealing with

Note the vertical cable is the worst case as the arc flash extends upwards. Horizontally the flash will arc upwards like a rainbow and create a widening separation (eg like a Jacobs Ladder effect).

Ive got a Current source MMA welder now and can do 100A ca 28V so I hope to set up some tests to show the Arc flash issue and the need for separation distance (also I want to try my plant water mister to see how it extinguishes the flame - havent found this mentioned anywhere and Welders are too pussy to take up the challenge
