Re: Is there a Firefly battery source in Australia

OK, it looks that I am going ahead. Will order some, and price for me is just over $800 to West Australia.
And if others participate, price is well under $800, or as low as $700 each, and if we are ordering 30 batteries or more well under $700.
that is purchase price, shipping, import duties and GST.
Sent me a PM if you are interested.
No, I am not making any money on this.

Re: Is there a Firefly battery source in Australia

I have ordered some, but to get a better price I had to order some batteries in excess of my needs. So a few are available at the same price I purchased them for. The buyer will receive copies of all invoices, so you will know that there is no profit/markup involved.

Are Firefly batteries better? Do not know, but will find out. And even then, there are a lot of other variables that influence the lifespan of a battery:
- the depth of discharge in each cycle
- the number of cycles
- the time that a battery remains in a partly state of charge
- correct charging voltage and parameters set by the charging devices: engine alternator, solar, wind, genset, shorepower
- operating/ambient temperature
- maintenance, although this mainly applies to vented lead acid batteries

I guess I will report in 4-5 years time, to check the capacity of the batteries then, as compared to the capacity when new.

Hi Hank
A while since your post but do you have any of those Fireflies left. I’d want 4.

Re: Is there a Firefly battery source in Australia

Hi Davanna. In the end I didn't go through with the deal, and one reason was that all the 3 that showed genuine interest, all pulled out. Hehehe, I still need new batteries, not sure if will try to buy Firefly again. I might..... or not. I am still sitting on the fence.

So, as an answer to your question, no I have no spare Fireflies
