Isotherm cruise 130- 120v ground location

I'm back with another question that, no-doubt, has a simple answer.

I'm installing an Isotherm Cruise 130 dual voltage- 12v/120v. I'm unclear on the ground location for the 120V wiring.

Instructions say: "Earth connection is to be place on the compressor foot near the electronic unit. There is a hole drilled in the foot for this purpose, use a 5/32" screw and nut and a ring cable shoe on the wire."

I can't find a hole that will accept a screw and nut. Just a screw. Also, the pic on the wiring diagram doesn't show a regular ring terminal. I'm assuming a "ring cable shoe" is just a crimp on ring?

Is the screw I have circled in the picture the ground? It's an expensive piece of kit, so I want to get this right.

TIA again guys!

That screw as shown in picture would work. Anywhere on the metal base works. A crimp-on ring terminal is what to use. The green wire is the ground (safety) wire for the 120V side of the system.

The pictured Danfoss controller is double insulated so it has no ground connection. They want you to take the ground wire from the 120V feed, crimp a ring terminal to it and put it under that screw so as to make electrical contact with the metal parts of this unit

Re: Isotherm cruise 130- 120v ground location

Thanks @scubaseas

knock on question. The manual calls for a 4A fuse.

I was going to wire this into my Blue Seas 120V breaker panel, but Blue Seas doesn't have a 4 amp breaker- and the manual says "properly fused wire".

I'm not sure where to tap into 120V supply if not through the breaker panel.

Do I wire in a regular plug receptacle behind the fridge to the breaker panel and wire in a 4A fuse the plug that comes from the fridge to the receptacle?

The breaker must protect the cable. So the wire size must be able to handle the breaker value.
When the controller doesn’t have a fuse then you simply insert an inline fuse just before the crimp on spade connector that goes into the controller.

I agree. Or use a terminal strip (covered). The fuse protects the wire, Use an outlet and wire an inline fuse upstream of the controller.

Having said that I'd sleep OK at night if you used a 5amp BlueSeas breaker on the panel for the 120V supply.

Nice unit.
