kudos to a caring company

Three years ago I had to change batteries on my boat, the original factory supplied batteries were dead. I looked around and saw that Fireflies were oh so much lighter than the monsters that laid dead on my boat. I was in Maryland and could only find a couple of them, they were hard to find. I contacted Bruce Schwab at Ocean Planet Energy, we discussed the possibilities and some dealers which may have the eight that I needed, I drove to Rhode Island a lot closer than Maine (where Ocean Planet is based) and purchased the batteries, installed them with technical advise from Bruce Schwab and went on cruising.
I was very happy with them until just before three years were up they stopped holding voltage. I contacted Bruce Schwab and he put Tom Whitehead from Ocean Planet Energy to work with me. Through numerous emails and phone conversations we tested all the possibilities and tried to revived them, this did not work and so they helped me with the warranty issue and provided possible substitution for the batteries.
Their technical advise was invaluable and Tom understood the budget and my possibilities. I now have eight new Victron batteries on board and the boat is happy (so am I).
Ocean Planet went out of their way to help me resolve the battery problem, they didn't have to do this, there was no price tag, I learned a lot. I'm very grateful and glad that there are companies that care about fellow sailors.
I can't recommend Ocean Planet enough.

Re: kudos to a caring company

All the fireflies are dying. They are junk.

We’ve had to replace lots up here under warranty.

Re: kudos to a caring company

I’m winding up my third season of firefly batteries. Very pleased.
