Question Link 10 showing 19.25 volts!

I just installed a new set of 2- 6 volt golf carts batteries that I am using as my "house bank". The batteries are 6 volt lead acid 230 amps. each. My "starting battery" is a 12 volt deep cycle. agm. The voltage meter on the electrical panel (with shore power on) reads around 13.6 volts. Voltage reading of the series golf cart batteries is reading 12.5 volts. Voltage reading off of the 12 volt battery is 12.3. Is it more likely that the 38 year old Link 10 is malfunctioning, or that there is somehow 19 volts going through the system?

Not enough information. Have you measured the voltage(s) AT the batteries and at the back of the Link 10 with a DVM?

Just guessing: does the Link battery monitor need to be reset/retrained due to addition of new batteries?

Re: Link 10 showing 19.25 volts!

Assuming the link voltage was correct before you installed the new 6 volt batteries the only thing I can think of without lots more information is did you somehow get one of the 6 volt batteries in series with the 12 volt batteries or the circuit they are on with shore power

13.6 + 6 is 19.6.

What does the electrical panel read with shore power off.

More detail is needed.

Re: Link 10 showing 19.25 volts!

measure the pins on the back of the meter. there is probably 2 power. one power and one v sense. measure both to the ground pin. if they both read 13 the meter is garbage. if they read 19 you have done something very weird.

Does a solar array figure in this setup?

Got a photo of your link10 shunt and where the negative battery cables all go.
