Motion sensor lights/alarms

Do any of you use these for theft/boarding prevention? I was thinking it may keep our dinghy hanging in the Davits if at least a light came on, seems like a pretty easy thing to rig up. Do you get a lot of false alarms from critters, stuff blowing? Wondering about practicality and didn't see any info in the search.

If no one will notice it or respond then it won't help.

Re: Motion sensor lights/alarms

My alarm makes lots of noise and turns on the spreader lights... Been broken into too much. I also wire an inner ring of wire to my inverter to wake up lazy thief's
