My delphi battery

Hi,

I have a Bavaria 40 cruiser. Two of its three batteries are Delphi Freedom Marine, maintenance free calcium(12 V, 140 Ah). There has been a severe problem in one of them, overheating and a smell like rotten eggs, sulfiric acid. So i want to learn their production dates and if possible charge levels. There are signs on the large label above the battery, colors for charge levels and two rows of months and years(I checked signs on any of them, no paper isnt ripped or there are no lights on them). I cant find where can i check the colors according to the signs.
I also read that there can be symbols on the batteries for production date, i found "be14072" on the side of the case, if it'll help. Can somebody help me quickly? Thank you.

Re: My delphi battery

I found this: Delphi Sealed Batteries
but not sure if this is the same system you have on your batteries.

and this: http://www.premierproductwarehouse.c..._code_info.pdf for the date codes for batteries

Re: My delphi battery

Thanks so much for the links! I clearly understood the date of it, and guess mine is sealed too. But the problem is I cannot find the built-in hydrometer/indicator's light around the battery. Is there a diagram or something that may show where it is?(I googled it but couldnt find, I'm a newbie sorry)

Re: My delphi battery

I have the Freedom 2000 batteries and that indicator is damn useless. My batteries are near the end of their life and the indicator is still green. My alt regulator failed and was charging at 16.5v.
