Need new battery charger?

I have two 12 volt batters and isolator switch. One battery is duracell group 27 marine battery and only about 4 months old. The other two years old. Anyway, returned from a 3 month biz trip and both batteries dead and my marinco 6 amp charge pro was dark--neither the green or red light was illuminated. I pulled the unit, is it safe to assume that the marinco, if plugged into 110 should be producing 12 volts on the output terminals? Mine isn't. The 120v freezer was running fine of the shore power so i'm assuming the charger is shot. Am I missing anything?
Also what what be considered an upgrade over a marinco 6am?

Re: Need new battery charger?

I don't know anything about a Marinco 6 amp charge pro, but a 6 amp charger is really small. Does the boat live at a dock?
If you need an inverter, you might want to look at an inverter charger like the Victron Multiplus. I have the 3000 VA model and it charges up my batteries at 120 amps.
One benefit you get is non-interrupted power.
Yes, it is expensive.

Re: Need new battery charger?

According to the Guest 2606A manual:
When: Neither of the LED’s turn on when the AC power is applied.
1. No AC power available at the charger
Connect AC power or reset the AC breaker on the main panel
2. Component failure
Return charger to the Guest Service Dept.
