wow, thanks for the word, Boatpoker! I definitely am not taking the boat or the battery out of the water to charge.

My intent is to condition or top up the battery on my daysailer, maybe monthly, using a heavy extension cord from shore power pedestal. Then I'll take the charger home so it can't too heavy.

My boat does not have shore power or any AC wiring and never will.
