New Paguro 6500 problem melting down

We bought a new Paguro 6500 two months ago and it now has a bit more than 80 hours of use

Just today as we were using the 2000W watermaker , we started smelling as if something was burning. When we opened the case, we found out that this two pieces were melting. We immediately stopped the generator.

Is this new generator a junk we shouldn't have bought?
what are these pieces that have melted?
whe can I get spares for this Paguro 6500?
where can be the problem coming from?

Any help from you pirates is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

This seems to be a recurring problem with Volpi/ Paguro generators and at 2 months and 80 hrs Volpi should be fixing it for you under warranty. The consensus on this forum has generally been that heat kills those capacitors and some folks on here have relocated the caps to outside the Paguro sound shell.

Re: New Paguro 6500 problem melting down

The capacitance should be inscribed on the housing of the Cap and should be between 25 and 35 microfarads (35uF). There is a lot of variation in the quality of capacitors, some brands are very good and others very bad, this was discussed at some length on the forum by people who know more about this subject than me. This problem should be resolved by the generator supplier or manufacturer.... it’s still under Warranty!
