Re: New solar panel but which one?

Read this tutorial as it links VE's own excel spreadsheet to give you info on what will work with what. https://www.victronenergy.com/blog/2...ge-regulators/

I'm planning my install now.

You can also download their iPhone or Adroid app called "VictronConnect" and run it in Demo mode. App will show amount harvested for each of the last 30 days along with real time info.

I definitely am buying the Bluetooth built in models. VE uses the word "smart" to show it has BT functionality built in.

Currently have one 100/30 model as a test fit before buying 3 more.

I'm going to run one per panel.

My only remaining question is how easy it is to swap between controllers on the app. Anyone know?

I think I found my answer
https://www.victronenergy.com/live/_..._discovery.png

Each item will show up one one page, you click to enter each individual one.

I also purchased the BMV-712 to replace an old Link 10. BT functionality will be nice.

Re: New solar panel but which one?

My opinion is that space is always a premium and the limiting factor. I bought the highest efficiency, largest panels I could find and fit. (Greatest watts per square foot). Select also a high open circuit voltage so the MMPT will give you the greatest benefit. Connect the panels in parallel. I have Morningstar MMPT 45 amps at 24 volts. Seems to be good and was recommended.

Handy Bob Solar is a good tutorial (Google)

Love to see pics of this setup. PM if you want. Thanks!
