Panel V reading higher than at batteries?!

New boat. New control panel, very high end it seems! Can't find manual for it on manufacts web site, but sent them an email. Nereide series from Simarine.

But V reading at the panel, see pic, is 13V. Reading across 2 160 Ah AGMs battery terminals with multimeter is 12.69V. This is brand new boat. Assuming battery is full charged as it only shipped across the ocean last week. Unloaded and motored for 4 hours to get to mooring. Battery should be fully charged, which I think is 13V for AGM, and what panel says (100%). Hard to believe my MM is off, but I will bring my old fashioned 40 yr old radio shack analog meter down this week.

Any other ideas for the discrepancy?

Re: Panel V reading higher than at batteries?!

There may be a user adjustable display voltage offset in (if it has a microprocessor) the menu. My home's Midnite Solar MPPT has one.
The best thing is to measure at the display's pick up, and compare with the battery.

Any OCV for AGM > about 12.7VDC indicates either there is a charging source active or there is still a "surface charge" on the battery's plates after the last charging evolution.

An OCV for AGM of 12.6 to 12.7VDC, indicates a fully charged battery. Note that there is a temperature consideration as well.
