Portable Generator Hook-up

Gen. Hook up
Hi I am looking for some advice regarding hooking up a portable Honda gen to power supply of Sail boat.
I am thinking all I have to do is plug in generator to same plug I would normally hook up to at a marina.
My marina power would generally go to 1800 Watt inverter charger etc from there.
My question is what do I do about the fact that there is no ground to shore do I need to change something else.

Been doing that for a few years now. Works great. Only concern is proper securing and exhaust.

I do the same. I don't run my 2K Honda while at the dock unless there is no one around but only as much as needed, to top off the house battery or to run my microwave oven. If I'm at a dock it has shore power.

You have stepped in it now. The BS will now flow with the force of Niagara Falls.

Honda generators come without a ground (frame) to neutral connection. If you plug in your shore power cable (with 3 wire adaptor or companion version) then you might get a light on your reverse polarity shore power panel. If that keeps you up at night, just make a dummy plug with a short between the neutral (silver screw) and ground (green screw) and plug into the extra receptacle space.

Either way the biggest hazard is from CO poisoning not electrocution.
