Prosine 2.0 Repair

My Xantrex Prosine 2.0 is defective in the 110V-AC bypass. Does anyone know or have you noticed this problem in a Prosine? At where? I'm in Fort Pierce, Fl.

Re: Prosine 2.0 Repair

Please let us know how you go if you decide to try to get it serviced.

There is a list of authorized service shops on their website.

Apparently they can have problems getting parts on units out of warranty.

Re: Prosine 2.0 Repair

I had one of those units, actually two, that had the same or similar problem. Kept tripping out in the AC passthrough with various error codes all the time. First one sent back for a warranty repair, they sent me another so that was good, but it ended up with the exact same problem. Threw the 2nd one in the dumpster where it belonged. Both of these failures happened within a year of installing the units. I think it was a case of a poor engineering response to a potential safety issue.

Ended up buying an Outback charger/inverter with the same specs and wiring, so it was a relatively easy install. Haven't had even a whiff of a problem since.

I've pretty much sworn off Xantrex products since my experience with the Prosine 2.0.

I love my Magnum 4024 in my home's solar grid tie / LiFePo4 backup system.
