Re: Pure Sine Wave generators

Simple inverters with square pulse output do not cause any problem for most of the electronic equipment. But when it comes to audio or video equipment it is really annoying. Because the high freqency they generate reduces the quality of the sound and video a lot. You can find also inverters with sine wave output with much lower prices than a generator but then you need a big capacity of batteries.

Re: Pure Sine Wave generators

Modified sine wave inverters are more like square wave output, should be made illegal in my view, they are dangerous. full stop!

Many appliance will work with non sine wave inverters, many will die prematurely, some will even burst into flames!

If it has a motor in it, it will die prematurely even if it works.

They are only really useful for simple resistive loads, capactivie loads will dislike them, inductive loads will positively hate them, each time the pulse goes on/off you will get a large back spike, a back emf which creates havoc in any inductive load.

Re: Pure Sine Wave generators

If in the market for a Honda you should also consider the Yamaha EF2000is. Very similar specs and very high quality. I wrote a review on Amazon: Amazon.com: trisailor "trisailor"'s review of Yamaha EF2000iS 2,000 Watt 79cc OHV 4-Stro...
