Raymarine Type1

The electric piston of my raymarine st4000+ autopilot is making an horrible sound while working.
I saw on a second hand shop the biggest type 1 linear drive and I was wondering if is it possible to connect it to the unit I have on board.
Any thoughts??
Thank you
Roberto
