Replacement part of Maxwell P19045 solenoid

My Maxwell HRC10 series windlass just stopped working. It was OK one week but the next time I tried dropping anchor it was completely dead, no sound, smoke or any other phenomena. There is power coming into the solenoid. There is power at the terminals where the remote control plugs in and the remote control breaks/opens circuit when I press up/down buttons (used a battery to test that). There is no power coming out of the solenoid to the windlass so I assume solenoid is the problem. Am I on the right track or is there something else I should check? The problem is that I am not sure how to get a replacement solenoid for the current Maxwell dual Direction P19045. It is nowhere in stock. What criteria are important when looking for an alternative. This one is 12v/500A/dual direction (which I assume means same as reversible).

Hmm ... corporate moves have confused the picture.

Vetus den Outen B.V. bought Maxwell in 2008.

Yanmar bought Vetus in 2013, but Vetus and Yanmar maintain separate identities.

Up until at least 2010, one could find windlass specialists who had 'Maxwell agent' signboards - I had my Maxwell windlass serviced at one such place. Finding such a windlass specialist might be a good start.

Note that a Maxwell SP5104 reversing solenoid is represented as a "replacement" for a P19045.
