Rewiring Shore Power Plug

I had a small incident. I didn't leave enough slack on my shore power cord and we had some high winds. Long story short the wire got pull right out of the socket attached to my boat. (Beneteau Oceanis 40 - 220 volts).

I took it apart to reconnect but I'm not sure which wire goes where. I have three wires (blue, brown and yellow/green). Can someone help me out?

Re: Rewiring Shore Power Plug

While your boat is 220V, is the shore power a 220V/50Hz or a 110V/60Hz. Both are wired differently. I have a cheat sheet for the 2 wiring methods that I'll dig out of my archive.

The following image shows the standard 220V connection wiring on a plug:

Re: Rewiring Shore Power Plug

Part of me wants to say if you don't know the standard EU wiring colours, or don't know how to find out, then perhaps you should get a professional to rewire your plug. You could even visit your local ferreteria and ask them.

But seeing as though the shops are closed on Sundays in Spain and you don't know how to use google

Re: Rewiring Shore Power Plug

The green/yellow is ground
The "W" in the Marinco is Neutral, which would be your blue
What is left is the brown, which is the live. If those two are switched, your instrument panel will show "reverse polarity" but the power will still work.
