Seaview cable seal experiences

I have purchased a cable seal to run our solar panel cables, and GPS antenna cable through. The #10 awg solar cables are slightly smaller than than the closest drill tube supplied. I prefer not to cut a slit in the rubber to fit the wire but wonder if there is any compression of the rubber when the cover is secured, which would seal the rubber around the wires?
