Re: Shorepower Charger and Combiner

There is another device to split the current from the Alternator - ProSplit-R Zero Volt Drop Marine Battery Isolator. It has dedicated input for the Alternator and two outputs which should be connected to batteries.
- Zero Voltage drop.
- Dedicated terminal for Alternator
I think this device is compatible with Dual battery charger (from shore power).

Re: Shorepower Charger and Combiner

About Blue Sea ACR 7610 and dual battery charger (from shore power).

To make the ACR "compatible" with dual battery charger we need to disable ACR when the shore power is connected.
It can be done the following way:
- Manually - using a manual switch to disconnect ACR when the boat is in docks.
- Automatically - ACR 7610 has "Start Isolation" feature. The idea is that Start Isolation (SI) terminal should be connected to the start button output (or to starter solenoid +). When SI terminal gets +12V it disables ACR. We can use it to "feel" that shore power is connected. We can install a simple 110V to 12V power supply and connect its + to ACR SI (and - to the boat negative bus). This way ACR 7610 will "feel" when shore power is connected and disables itself.
