Shunt wiring

Hi Friends,
We are adding batteries to our house bank and will lose the space for
our Victron shunt close to the negative battery terminal.
Can I relocate the shunt about 6 feet away from the the batteries
and place it right before the negative buss bar instead of next to the batteries?
This will be a direct, properly sized cable with nothing connected to the battery bank before the shunt. Basically going from a one foot cable to the shunt
to a 6 foot cable.
Cheers
Neil

Re: Shunt wiring

Sure - as long as the shunt is the only thing connected to the battery, it should work fine. FWIW, our main battery monitor shunt is clear on the other side of the boat from our battery, but between the battery and the negative buss.
