Chuck-
"I don't think anyone has suggested using the 12 volt output for running anything on the boat." Not specifically, but it was also not specified by anyone that there IS a real danger in doing so. A year from now when someone sees the old thread and says "Oh, they were going to use the Honda to run the microwave"....there's nothing that says that isn't a 12V microwave, or anything else.

Just wanted to make sure the "Danger: Minefield" sign is posted.

I have the Kipor kge2600ti. It has been going strong in the marine environment for over 1.5 years now. Not a hiccup yet! I have been using it onboard and on-land for the last 6 months so the environment may be a little less stressing.

While cruising it is absolutely great. It lets me not only charge my batteries, but it also lets me run my microwave without the oven making the funny noise it makes when I am strickly running from batteries and inverter (Trace Freedom 2500).

I have compared the sound to the honda 1000, my 2600 is a little bit louder, when it is fully loaded. At low loads and idle, can't tell the difference.
