I purchased a controller advertised as a mppt unit.
When I received the unit the manual said it was a pwm unit.
The co. says they “forgot” to mention that the unit will also do mppt
Can the same unit do both systems ??
I haven’t connected the unit so I don’t know if there are instructions to set it up either way in the unit.
The unit has a small screen and some picture buttons non of which indicate a change of systems.

The cheaper ones from China are often advertised as mppt when they are really pwm. Ya takes your chances with the cheap stuff. Personally I would try and return your controller.

It sounds like the company has no clue what they are talking about.

It would make no sense for any company to build a controller that is switchable between PWM and MPPT.
