Solar, Inverter and TABLESAW???

Holy cow. I can’t believe how luxurious it is to have a lot of solar and a big inverter.

I was using my generator to run my table saw and enormous shop vac. I had a generator malfunction so I figured, just for fun, I’d try the table saw and shop vac off the inverter. It worked perfectly! I couldn’t believe it. Since it’s full sun, the batteries didn’t even take much of a hit.

1500 watts solar
3kw pure sine inverter
Tiny 440 AH battery bank.

Flawless.

Such a nice luxury coming from boats without much in the way of inverter power.

Re: Solar, Inverter and TABLESAW???

As long as it's a big enough pure sine inverter with enough battery behind it to avoid excessive voltage dip, yeah, it'll run most power tools just fine.

450Ahr is not tiny, it’s moderate sized based on what people self report here.

Yep! Ever since I've gone lithuim I'm running my track saw grinders and my welder (by accident short run at 40a)

Its just amazing isn't it!

Most interesting is that my solar is now putting more power compared to when I had the lead acid

I think I’m reading too many of these lithium battery threads with envy. Ha ha

I only have 220 usable amp hours for a freezer and all the power tools. But it doesn’t get depleted because even my boat work tales place at peak solar times. So it’s all free energy without using batteries at all.

They only get cycled at night for the freezer.

It really is amazing and I hadn’t even thought about that! Yes, the solar would put out more power because the charge acceptance is higher on the lithium batteries.

I can’t wait to get those. Next battery bank I’ll finally make the switch.
