SPREADER LIGHTS

Anyone have experience with using red deck lights? My mast is unstepped and have opportunity to replace old incandescent sealed beam spreader lights. I'm thinking of replacing with Hella Seahawk LEDs. There is the option of red or white. White will light up the deck plenty well. Red, for obvious reasons, will preserve night vision.

Really it's a question of when I would need deck lights - underway or at anchor.

Anyone put both on?
